WELCOME TO THE ROSIE HOME

Hey there, I’m Rachel! Welcome to The Rosie Home, where cozy meets natural, garden-y vibes with a touch of vintage charm. Here, I blend my ten years of experience in floral design with my passion for home decor and design. My husband David, a firefighter and business owner, joins me on this journey. We have two daughters named Rosie & Sunny.

With a background steeped in floral design, I've always had an eye for natural beauty and vintage charm. But it was our renovation journey with our mid-century family home that ignited my passion for creating inviting spaces that marry the indoors with the outdoors.

In 2022, we brought our vision to life with The Rosie Home, nestled on a serene piece of land outside of Burleson, Texas. Named after our oldest daughter and inspired by my love for flowers and gardening, it’s a space where cozy nooks and vintage finds blend seamlessly with natural elements.

If you’re ready to see what we’ve built here at The Rosie Home, keep scrolling as I take you on a tour of the house we have joyfully made into a space that we are excited to come home to.

The Rosie Home Tour

I will be highlighting a few of the spaces you see often in The Rosie Home and walk you through how I created them, but most importantly, how I made them feel like home to my family and I.

THE KITCHEN

Our kitchen is most definitely the heart of the home. It gets the most beautiful natural light, and the 8.5’ vaulted ceilings and warm tones of the maple cabinetry are stunning. I’m a big fan of wood tones, I don’t think they’ll ever go out of style and it brings a calm and cozy feeling that new build homes lack a decent amount of the time. The open-concept to the living room layout is everything I dreamed of for this main level space.

THE COFFEE BAR

A follower-favorite space in our home is our coffee bar. I can’t get enough of it, and neither can our guests and family! I love to display a variety of decor pieces here and swap them out seasonally to give the space a simple refresh. The brass railing on the open shelves in this space is my absolute favorite detail. The coffee bar is my favorite especially in the fall and winter when all of the cozy vibes commence.

THE LIVING ROOM

Our open-concept living room is pure bliss to me. A few of my favorite features are the open shelves, our frame tv, and towering stone fireplace. I love to rearrange the furniture in here every now and then and get creative with a variety of cozy decor accents.

THE PRIMARY BEDROOM & BATHROOM SUITE

Our bedroom and bathroom are two spaces that constantly leave me feeling inspired. The mix of color, and textures bring me so much joy on a daily basis. We made sure to incorporate plenty of windows in the bedroom to let all the natural light in and give us pretty views of the surrounding scenery and our backyard pool. The primary bathroom features a striking glass wall, a gorgeous stand alone tub, sleek white vertical tile, and marble-look flooring. The accent wall in our bedroom, and the vintage pink theme in our bathroom are two color pops I know I will love for years to come. Our primary suite is truly the ultimate sanctuary.

THE BACKYARD POOL

The most recent project to The Rosie Home has been our backyard pool oasis. I wanted this space to have a moody vibe with plenty of clean lines. We chose travertine pavers for the patio surround and black pebble for the pool which I feel like accomplish our design style goals perfectly. The garden beds surrounding the pool area are, of course, a favorite for me as well. I can’t wait for all the family gatherings we will have right in our backyard!

THE BABY GIRL NURSERY

Another recent favorite space in our home is our youngest daughter, Sunny’s nursery. It is calm, inviting, and you’ll find plenty of nods to our love for vintage flair in her room as well. I chose natural and cozy color tones for this space and I couldn’t love the end result more! I love mixing thrifted or antique finds with new pieces to create an original, one-of-a-kind look and this room is definitely a great example of that.

THE EXTERIOR

Lastly, let’s talk about exteriors. From the window boxes filled with blooming flowers to the cedar accents, black windows, and our covered front porch - each detail is a representation of utilizing my home as a canvas. This is something I’ve always been passionate about especially since seeing a floral designer. I am so grateful for our wonderful dream life on our land.
